ANONIMO & LEOPARD TOGETHER ALSO ON 4 WHEELS

In addition to the close partnership already established in motorcycle racing, the exclusive watch brand and the renowned racing team further expand their collaboration in the world of cars with the Audi Sport Leopard Lukoil Team, taking part in the 2018 FIA-WTCR World Championship.

ANONIMO doubles its commitment to racing! The established winning alliance between the exclusive watch brand and Leopard Racing WRT has been renewed to further embrace car racing. In the wake of the triumphs collected in the last two editions of the TCR International Series, with Comini and Vernay crowned champions in 2016 and 2017 respectively, a new era is about to begin!

ANONIMO will be Leopard Racing’s Official Timekeeper in the 2018 FIA-WTCR World Championship, the brand new series for touring cars – born from the merger of WTCC and TCR – which will officially begin this week at the Moulay El Hassan Circuit, Morocco. The 2018 calendar includes 10 rounds with 3 races for each event and final showdown scheduled on November 10th in Macao.

The change also concerns the racing structure as Leopard Racing and WRT will in fact be supported by Audi Sport and Lukoil. The involvement of these two giants will guarantee drivers Jean-Karl Vernay (reigning TCR champion) and Gordon Shedden (former BTCC champion) the opportunity to express their full potential at the wheel of the Audi RS3 LMS.

The cars of the Audi Sport Leopard Lukoil Team will be racing on some of the best circuits in the world to fight for victory. Official Timekeeper ANONIMO will be on the wrists of both drivers and on the fairings of both cars to get the best results and aim for another historic triumph!

And that’s not all! The watchmaking brand born in Italy and crafted in Switzerland will propose this summer a new dedicated model.

Jean-Karl VERNAY, number #69 as “JayKay-San”
Born 30 years ago in Villeurbanne, near Lyon, Vernay came under the spolight in 2005 by wining the French Formula Campus series. Then he moved to the United States to race in the Firestone Indy Lights series, clinching the title in 2010 with four race-wins. Vernay then won the Porsche Carrera Cup France (2012) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans LMGTE Am class (2013). In 2016, the Frenchman joined Leopard Racing WRT to race in the TCR International Series and finished 3rd overall. The following year Vernay finally secured the TCR title with no less than 226 points.

Gordon SHEDDEN, number #52 as “Flash”
Born in 1979 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Gordon Shedden is a 3-time winner of the prestigious BTCC title with 12 seasons in the series and 48 race wins. Last year the Scottish driver joined Leopard Racing WRT for the last event of the season in Dubai: it was a really impressive weekend for “The Flash” who scored a superb pole position and a brilliant podium finish.
